AFCLab UTM Marks Completion of Industrial Training by Undergraduate Internships Students

The Anti-Financial Crime Laboratory (AFCLab), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), recorded the completion of industrial training by three undergraduate industrial training students, Kuganes Varman A/L Balan, Devinda Weerasinghe, and Faiezun Binti Mohamad Faizal, upon the conclusion of their final industrial training presentations.

Kuganes Varman A/L Balan and Devinda Weerasinghe are undergraduate students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) who completed a 20-week industrial training programme from 22 September 2025 to 6 February 2026. Faiezun Binti Mohamad Faizal, an undergraduate student from University Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), completed a 24-week industrial training placement from 4 August 2025 to 30 January 2026 in fulfilment of her Semester 9 academic requirements. Throughout their training, the students were involved in practical activities related to financial crime awareness, analytical support, and research-oriented work conducted at AFCLab.

During the industrial training period, the students were involved in activities supporting public education efforts and institutional initiatives related to financial crime and digital security. The programme enabled them to apply academic knowledge while gaining experience in a professional and research-driven setting.

The industrial training programme concluded with final presentations by the students, during which they presented their learning outcomes, assigned responsibilities, and overall experience gained at AFCLab.

AFCLab remains involved in providing industrial training placements that offer practical exposure while supporting ongoing efforts in financial crime prevention and digital security awareness.
